A puppy popping up its face from flower petals in KATO’s work titled 《Seed》. Her work requires intensively long period of time as she starts her work with making dolls which are models of her photos. Then she takes pictures of them and based on her photos she draws oil paintings. In this work as well, her expression pursues reality to draw even details of perished petals and that allows her to invite her audience into another world which is a page of a fairy story. It, however, also creates a wonder and magical mood. The work symbolizes the essence of existence of the girl that is fragile and unstable but unconsciously holds wonderful power.
